I am a self taught artist living in the Rhymney Valley. Although I have always had a talent for drawing it is only recently in 2018 that I began painting. This came after my 50th birthday and much encouragement from my son, who has a degree in fine arts. I decided to give it a try and I haven't looked back since !
However having both a full-time and a part time job as a Deputy Childcare Manager and a Youth-worker, I haven't quite enough time as I would like.
As a Cancerian I have always been mesmerized by water in any shape or form, but I mostly love the seaside. I have a love of nature and wildlife and I like to think this transfers into my artwork.
I have recently began painting outdoors, mainly in my own garden and local parks. I love the wonderful colours and shapes of plants and flowers.
I have used oils and acrylics so far in my paintings and would like to experiment with watercolors soon. Painting has become a great joy for me, and I am hoping to learn more by attending some of the art group's workshops. Hopefully this will give me further encouragement and inspiration from like-minded people.
