Olwyn Pegington
Olwyn says that art was always her favourite subject at school and she remembers even as a child that she was always sketching people, faces and animals. Then her career as a nurse on maternity and special care infant units as well as bringing up her own family intervened leaving little time for her art.
"When I moved to Abergavenny in 2001, I joined the Art Group and attended life drawing classes at the Leisure Centre. Inspired by Degas, I work mainly in pastel but I also enjoy charcoal, watercolour and more recently oils."
Once a month Olwyn attends the Life Drawing classes at Arts Alive in Crickhowell. "It's good to share experiences and gain inspiration from other artists", she explains.
