Winnie Heneghan
I was born and educated in Hong Kong, spent much of my adult life in London and now I live and work in Wales.
I was educated in Classical Chinese Literature and Chinese History, and was trained in traditional Chinese painting.
In my painting I try to capture the Chi: the vitality and spirit of the subject. I aim to draw the viewers into the picture, to search for a story unfolding beyond what the eyes can see.
I am a published writer. I write and illustrate my books combining my own original paintings with ancient Chinese sayings, translating them from the original Chinese text myself.
