David Harrison
David lives in Abergavenny and he started painting in the early 90's whilst he was on holiday. "But I did not seem to be able to find time between holidays to do any painting and so did not improve. It was not until I retired in 1998 that I managed to paint regularly and attend lessons at Gordon Low's classes at Llanellen.
"I was originally inspired to paint by seeing the work of my wife's aunt Marie-Louise Heuclin, who is well known in Brittany as an Aquarellist. I have visited Brittany regularly for the last 20 years and love painting the seascapes and boats and prefer watercolours for their immediacy and the effects that can be produced. I also enjoy drawing in charcoal and have recently tried acrylics, but watercolour is still my favourite."
